NL MVP – Andrew McCutchen (PIT)
MVP and Cy Young. It's a good day. I don't think those Trout fans will ever not be butthurt. It's "Most Valuable Player," not "Player with the best BS Stats." Without Trout, the Angels would have still finished in the AL West basement, without Cabrera, the Indians would have choked against the A's.
I'm happy Dombroski's going after Nathan. We need an actual closer. Not a heart stress tester. There's also talk that Mr. Cheeseburger Fielder's on the chopping block. It's doubtful we can dump him with that salary, though. And if they're gonna trade Scherzer, they better get every #1 draft pick between now, and the next lockout.
Breaking News: Prince Fielder has been traded to the Texas Rangers for Ian Kinsler.

Wait, for realz? We were actually able to dump his salary?
>Tigers save 72 million
Oh, hell yeah. Scherzer, you better make sure you don't blow your arm out, cause I got the feeling we just traded to keep you. Now, who the heck's Kinsler?
>2nd base.
So much for Infante
>.277 BA
Meh, not great, but not terrible either.
>72 RBIs
Again, not great, but not bad either.
At least we won't have to give him oxygen when he runs around the bases. Now, Dombroski, where the hell's our closer?!
Chris Young of Oakland signs with the Mets.
Angels trade Peter Bourjos in order to acquire David Freese of the Cardinals.
Brian McCann of Atlanta signs with the Yankees.
Jhonny Peralta of Detroit signs with the Cardinals.

1: official (team has confirmed it)
2: official (both had had their welcome to the club press releases)
3: unofficial (deal finalized awaiting checkup, aka what stopped mike napoli from being signed for a month)
4: unofficial ("close to pact" states reporter, jerry crasnick)

Oh yeah, I love the whole speculations with the offseason trade and free agents rumors. Right now, the Rays are going to sign Jose Molina. I wonder if Texas can be a good contender for Robinson Cano?

I hope Robinson Cano doesn't sign with the Yankees.

That depends on if Ryan's willing to throw a bunch of money into a furnace. Cano wants 300 million. Not even the Yankees are willing to spend that (apparently, the Yankees are sick of paying such a large luxury tax). It really sucks how long of contracts these players want because all it's going to do is screw over the team in the long run. It's going to suck when we gotta renew Cabrera and Verlander's contracts and will be stuck with paying forty million dollars to two handicapped players in 2019 while our draft picks fly on over to greener pastures.
Either you pay these horrible contracts, or you let your great players go and wind up like the Indians (just imagine how good they'd be right now with Sabathia, Cliff Lee, Peralta, Crisp, and Martinez) or Royals.
Dombroski, I swear if you don't get a closer this offseason…
Detroit: I need a closer.
Texas: Here, take mine.
Shit, we traded Fister. I'm all for strengthening our farm system, but good starting pitchers are like diamonds in Minecraft--they're incredible valuable and you hoard them as much as you can. There's a reason Smyly was placed in relief. Don't even get me started on Porcello… Who'd we get?
>Steve Lombardozzi
Oh, look. Another infielder. .259 BA. Not great. 22 RBIs. Also not great. So he's meh.
>Ian Krol
A reliever who can load the bases and make me curse Smyly for only going 5 2/3 innings. 3.65 ERA. That's not good for a reliever. 27.1 IP, 5 HR, 28 H. That's not good at all, he gives up a home run every five innings and a hit an inning?
>Robbie Ray
Apparently, the reason we got rid of Fister. 5-2, 3.72 ERA. Why'd we give up Fister?
I don't like it at all. And we still don't have a damn closer.
Minnesota is looking somewhat serious. They have signed Ricky Nolasco of the Dodgers and Phil Hughes of the Yankees. The Athletics have signed Scott Kazmir of the Indians. The Blue Jays have signed Dioner Navarro of the Cubs.
Orioles trade Jim Johnson to Oakland.
Red Sox signs A.J. Pierzynski
Tigers signs Joe Nathan
Oakland and Texas did an interdivision trade. The Athletics will get Craig Gentry and Josh Lindblom while the Rangers will get Michael Choice and Chris Bostick. In other news, Jarrod Saltalamacchia has signed with the Miami Marlins while one of the biggest free agents, Jacoby Ellsbury, has signed with the New York Yankees thus heating up the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry.

It's about time. Also,

Breaking: Robinson Cano has signed a 10-year, $240 million contract with the Seattle Mariners.
In other news, Curtis Grandison has signed with the Mets, Hiroshi Kuroda has re-signed with the Yankees, Scott Feldman has signed with the Astros, and J.P. Arencibia has signed with the Rangers.
Shin-Soo Choo has signed a 7 year/$130 million deal with the Texas Rangers.
