The winner of that game will win the 1st WC while the loser will play in Texas for the 2nd WC on Tuesday. Cleveland needs a win and either a loss from Texas or Tampa Bay to clinch a WC. Texas needs a win and a Tampa Bay loss to clinch a WC. Tampa Bay needs a win and a Texas loss to clinch a WC.
AL Homefield Advantage: Boston has already clinched the best record in the AL when Oakland lost to Seattle 7-5 today. Boston will host the WC game winner in the ALDS. Oakland has already clinched homefield advantage in the ALDS when Detroit lost to Miami 2-1 today. Oakland will host Detroit in the ALDS.
NL Wild Card: Because Pittsburgh won the final regular season series with Cincinnati with an 8-3 victory, Pittsburgh will host the NL Wild Card game against Cincinnati on Tuesday.
NL Homefield Advantage: St. Louis currently has a one game lead over Atlanta for the best record in the NL after St. Louis beat Chicago 6-2 while Atlanta lost to Philadelphia 5-4. If St. Louis wins or Atlanta losses tomorrow, then St. Louis will host the WC game winner in the NLDS while Atlanta will host Los Angeles in the NLDS. If there is a tie between St. Louis and Atlanta, then Atlanta will clinch the best record in the NL because they beat St. Louis 4-3 in the season series.
