How to End GamerGate in 5 Minutes 1. Unqualified apology for attacks on gamers. Admit that unfair attacks were made against a diverse group of people and that it was unfair to blame everyone for the conduct of a few bad people (and admit that some of the harassment came from trolls). 2. Fire the truly bad actors to show you're serious about reform. 3. Set out new ethical standards. Disclose relationships. This isn't hard. If you're friends with someone, say, "I'm friends." When you disclose relationships, you build trust. It doesn't detract from your credibility. It increases it. 4. When people attack you, engage them or ignore them but do not attack them. "Yes, that was wrong. We have moved on. If you want to dwell on the past rather than the future, that's totally cool. Thank you." Only lunatics keep attacking a person who has admitted he or she was wrong and is asking to move on. 5. Hire a ombudsman to take complaints. Give him or her a weekly column where he answers questions. This increased transparency would increase trust. (Even when people disagree with you, they respect you when you're open and honest about the criticism against you. One of GamerGate's biggest issue is the cover-up.)

I would also add something about public apologies to the devs that have been blacklisted, with the removal of the blacklist. Also, a promise to end the acceptance of bribes from gaming companies, at the very least disclose the bribe. Finally, might as well fix the gosh darn broken game rating scale where an 8.5 is average instead of a 5 or a 6, although that really doesn't have anything to do with corruption, it is just something that bothers me.
