Karen Apr 22. Vanbe On a Facebook group page I am on, someone apologized for making a racial slur. He used a word (spearchucker) that few realize is racial. Personally, I am tired of walking on eggshells not using words or not doing things that offend people. Someone pointed out to me that language evolves. Words that were once okay (or hand gestures...like ) change in meaning and we have to be sensitive to this. Can we go back to a time where we have conversations and get to know people's hearts rather than looking at a phrase or gesture and take offense? I have told the same to my child. She would be better off finding a young man in a reservation who is also Indian, she will be way happier.
