To be fair, this does have a good point.

Modern mainstream cartoons just don't seem to have the same individuality as they used to.

It might be because I grew up in the mid-90's, but even if it's just a background shot of the show with no characters, I can almost always identify which show it comes from as they all had their own look.

Codename: Kids Next Door didn't look like Ed, Edd and Eddy, which didn't look like Catdog, which didn't look like The Fairy Odd Parents, which didn't look like the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.

But now, unless it has the main characters in the image, I haven't got a clue.
