Funny or aggravating multiplayer gaming stories

This is essentially a topic where you may post any of your funny, aggravating, or just downright strange experiences/stories when playing any multiplayer game online. Post away! We need the laugh.

My first multiplayer experience was with Left 4 Dead; and unfortunately it went as well as opening a scorpion petting zoo.

Essentially, during my first "Humans v.s Zombies match", on top of being new to the game and multiplayer in general my computer decided to drop crippling lag on me, to the point where my screen was completely frozen and I couldn't do anything. Then to add insult to injury, the first bit of conversation text (between the players at the bottom of the screen) that I ever saw read "Is ohb retarded?" needless to say, I was a little miffed.

One time I was playing Goldeneye with my older brother and 2 cousins. I got the Moonraker laser and they said "Let's kill him". So, I was cornered and they started shooting at me, so I hit my brother and scream "Stop it". He told me to keep playing, and surprisingly, I was able to kill them all thanks to the laser's unlimited ammo. I was like "That's what you get".

Not so long ago, I was playing TF2 in Turbine. The only dude talking made a Yay reference and everyone started talking about best pony. Of course, Fluttershy was the most liked, and someone even sprayed a Yay picture.
Also, I was playing as Engineer and upgraded my Sentry to Level 3 near the spawn. Then I picked it up in order to place it near the intel room, but that guy (playing as Soldier) met me, and I had to drop the sentry. Of course, he killed me and destroyed my precious building. But the worst part is that he said "Your team sucks. This Engineer dropped a sentry in front of me and tried to fight me".
THAT was horrible ):

There's this boring ass match I had the pleasure to play in TF2 as a Spy, curbstomp at the best. The opposite team was getting killed in every possible way, I mean c'mon, I was having a killstreak of 20 and half of those kills were facestabs..Anyways, I convinced all my teammates to go with Spy, everyone with Dead Ringer, having a tower of hats, walking without disguise around, getting killed, and spam the fuck out of that clock's sound, hilarity issues…specially with the engineer, we had 8 spies sharing the same dispenser in the same place with no one noticing

Me, in Call of Duty Black Ops 2, playing because nothing better to do at a Sunday evening.

Attempts to finally unlock challenge for all Light Machine Guns, to get the ultra-groovy diamond camouflage for the LMGs. Plays normal match, core, attempts to kill some noobs with the weapon I'm using to complete the match.

Later in match, does good. Earns score to the scorestreaks (killstreaks), and got two of the high earned scorestreaks (Orbital VSAT, EMP Systems) and sets out for the final (Swarm) because the other team is a bit too easy to kill. Gets assist points because my team gets kills when scorestreaks active, then gets very close to the Swarm scorestreak.

Someone else joins the game.

He starts to spam C4, which doesn't phase me because I have blast protection, however I get seriously injured while that happens. I manage to recover but he retrys to throw explosives at me, while he overall fails.

Then suddenly, when I was about to recover, someone else throws a flashbang, A FLASHBANG GRENADE, and it kills me. My hard-earned work gone with a single blinding, weak grenade not meant for kills. I lose my hopes and dreams, the 13 kills all gone in a single flash (literally) and the next round starts.

After the match, thankfully the spammer leaves, but I didn't get enough kills with the weapon I was using, so I didn't get my final challenge to be completed. All the while, I did so poorly by the end of the match, that some people got a Helicopter and many, many Care Packages because my team sucked.

Very saddening I lost the match, lost my streak and lost the opportunity to finally complete the last challenge on that gun. Forcing me to play another match I did not want to play.
I almost threw my PS3 controller.

Alien Vs Predator (the new one that came out before colonial marines, that one)

I used to play as the marine in most matches and every game it would be the same formula:-
● Predators camping with plasma casters
● Getting light-light-heavy-executed comboed by aliens
● Being executed by aliens/predators and dying instantly even with full health because doesn't give you a chance to counter because marines are 2week by the looks of it

Times this scene by 20 for every match. I honestly lost my shit and snapped my controller in half, haven't touched that game since.

Once my sister was playing an online Call Of Duty online match when everything just went HAYWIRE! The game started to lag more than usual, then suddenly, she got an INSANE amount of Exp. points, bringing her up six levels, and then the graphics got glitchy and her player and all the other players were suddenly floating high above the play area.

THERE ARE ONLINE WIRELESS MATCHES?!
JK.
It's only been 2 times that I got a double kill in Goldeneye. When I did, lulz ensued.

too many to cover but i guess the stupidest one was from COD4

i was using the M40 (sniper rifle) with an ACOG (a terrible sight that basically took away the zoom from the scope)

i was being succeful with it despite being a very underpowered gun setup.

i get called "ACOG NOOB"

i reply, "well you are a noob spraying with an AK47, you are no better"

"did you just call me a noob?"

"yes"

i get kicked from the server

most pathetic server admin i have ever met.

I was playing a pretty obscure online FPS called Combat Arms. You've probably never heard of it. (Insert hipster glasses here) There's on map called "Waketown" or something to that effect. It's a little rustic, vaguely Favela-like seaside town (It's supposed to be on the Baltic sea or wherever.) The catch is, there's a lighthouse at the center of the map. Essentially, a perfect sniping location. So, I though, "What the hell? I'll just go up there and see if I can do some damage." So I do just that. And before I know it, my team wins with me getting a metric ass-ton of kills. Needless to say, I was taunted horribly by the other team and highly praised by my own.

Another story: I was playing Minecraft with some friends. If you've played Minecraft, I'm certain you know that pressure plate and Steel Door gateways are more for style than they are function. So, I walk by it. I step on the pressure plate, and a certain bow-wielding bony jerk decides to knock me from half a heart to a pile of items. When one of my friends asked "How did that happen?" I'd have to be stupid to not reply with a dutiful "I OPENED THE DOOR AND A SKELETON POPPED OUT!"

What if both teams are all medics?

I organized that once. Actually managed to spontaneously get everyone to go medic. It was glorious, all of those uber chains…

I was playing Killing Floor one time and after I mention how awesome the crossbow is, half of my teammates get crossbows. Now we're all using overpowered weapons with little ammo and missing all our shots because we're competing for the same kills.

Starting a quick match on a fighting game and getting paired up with the top player of the moment. Getting destroyed in a matter of seconds after practicing for hours on end is certainly frustrating.

On Minecraft Hunger Games, I was teamed up with two other people, one of which got stuck and I sadly had to kill her. The other one and me basically ripped through everybody else, killing like, 5 people in total. This one guy was taunting us, telling us that he saw us but we couldn't see him. So I just threw an ender pearl at him, teleporting me to him. And then I killed the guy who thought he was so full of himself. It was one of the most rewarding moments I've ever had while playing online. So then two other guys showed up and I killed both of them. I almost died by the way. So now, it was just him and me. So I decided to drop all our armor and swords. And now we are both fighting to the death with just our fists. He won, in the end. ;_;

@Omomom

Reminds me of the knife fights I used to organize on Counter Strike back when I played CS:CZ.

When 2 players were left standing, lurking around at opposite ends of the map it was boring waiting for them to find eachother. My solution to speed things up: the knife challenge.

One player initiates the challenge by slashing walls with the knife. This made a very loud noise in Counterstrike. When the other player hears it, he accepts the challenge by doing the same thing.

The contestants follow the noise until they find each other. Then the game plays out exactly like actual knife fights: circling around each other, waiting for moments to strike, dodging lunges, swiping at the jugular. Usually the person with the highest ping always won but it was fun as hell and the stab noise sounded so satisfying.

Knife fights in counterstrike were more fun than the gunfights.

One time in trouble in terrorist town, the match is set in a White House map,
and everyone thought it was a good idea to group up in the meeting room…

Playing KOTH on Team Fortress 2.
Just for the heck of it, a friend and I manage to convince both teams to play a round of melee-only, with everyone as heavies.
Great time, everyone laughs their balls off.
Next round starts, the guns come out again,
But luck would have it everyone stayed heavy.
32 spun-up minigun heavies rush the point.
So much blood.

Every time there is a host switch in Warhammer 40K Space Marine everyone sighs and start laughing at the way everybody moonwalks because of the host switch.

All those times of breaking into song and SOMEHOW convincing everyone to sing along.
All those times of having little children typing unbind_all in the console.
All those times of drowning your co-op partner all because you "accidentally" shot the wrong portal.
sigh
Good times…

possibly the funnies moment came from back when i played Combat Arms. It was back when voice chat first came out. There was a hacker in the match(no surprise there) and after the match the some other playing starts voice chatting and was crying calling the hacker a looser.

I guess another would of been the first experience i had with multiplayer playing Dungeon Siege with my friends and watching my friend get overwhelmed with enemies

There was a time I was sniping off a tower in Battlefield 3 on the Davamand Peak map. The other team had the Helo since it was still early in the game a rush. Well, I guess the guy in the helicopter saw me sniping and decided he would come shoot me out of my spot. Instead, I whipped out my crossbow and 1 shotted him as I jumped out of the tower to my death.

Our skeleton king was so mad that he feed himself to the enemy too much and we lose. (Almost win that game)

>Be Dragonknight in Dota 2
>One of my teammates leave mid game
>4v5
>We go in the enemy jungle taking down out of position enemies
>Somehow manage to get a decent amount of kills to reach DragonBoss status
>Enemie team rages
>Enemie team leaves
>Mfw when all according to plan

Just saw that the first forum I started was up on the main page, quite a nice surprise :) , came here to see how it was doing and everything looks good! Also; literately the first time I had ever played Gmod multiplayer, I only lasted about 2 seconds before I was blown up by an RPG.

Well, since this was front-paged…
If you're looking for aggravating or funny, the first thing to come to my mind is Portal 2 and GTA.
And 2 days ago, I was playing TF2. I have no idea how it happened, but there were 9 Engineers in total, and one of them even got the intel (we were on Turbine).
Today I found a server with 3 people in it. They were toying around, and I made one of them Taunt kill me as Scout. I taunt killed as Heavy and Spy, and we all got achievements. Oh, how beautiful…
