Just got around to listening to it all.
Favourties from the album would be Nursery Rhyme, Be there and Rabbit in your highlights.
Least preferred was The knock, didn't really dig that one, but otherwise I was pretty much nodding the whole time, I'd give it around a 6.8/10.

@Arcadian I was thinking 2 days, possibly 3 if people need time.
@Derpy Hang around a bit. Why not join in listening and reviewing the albums as well. :) And who knows, if anyone gets kicked, you can join there place and use your album. Same for you Omonom
I liked the album, but besides "Rabbit in the Headlights", it's a bit meh.

I didn't like it that much, probably because I'm not a big fan of electronic music. 5/10.
Tomberry said to give him some time, so we will. Also waiting for some other peoples replies, aka Olivia, but hey! In the good news, is Josh doesn't reply with his thoughts, he's kicked! NO BIEBER.

I hope you guys weren't taking Josh's pick seriously and realize he was just trolling.
Wow, you picked an album I already have.
I like the album, 7/10 overall, but in my opinion it's not UNKLE's best work, that honor goes to War Stories, and I wholeheartedly recommend that album to anyone who liked this one. There are songs I don't care for (Drums of Death pt.1) and songs I really like (Lonely Soul, Nursery Rhyme) and some just kinda mediocre stuff. Still, better than a lot of other stuff.

Then I change my pick to My World 2.0 by Justin Bieber because My World is only an EP.

You know what? I would totallt not care if i listened to a Justin Bieber album. It wouldn't be fun. But it wouldn't be torture.
But please man, don't replace the Avalanches. I so wanna hear dat. :I
Also, i should probably pm Olivia and Tomberry.
Alright, I keep my original album choice, but MW2.0 is going to be my next choice.
Next album time! The random number gnerator chose 17, AMERICAN IDIOT by GREEN DAY.
I'll send Death the Kid a PM.
Just finished listening and its…impressive.Theres a distinct sound of 3 musicians trying to cram every last concept and melody into one album, wether its a 5 part biography(Jesus of Suburbia:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSIIuqNqJOE),a god save the queen for the new millennium (American Idiot:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkmEZs_Kcms) or the break up song (Whatsername:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2LC1xrdOaM),very ambitious work
A soild 8/10 from me

Well, this one was a bit easier because there were at least 4 or 5 of those songs that were on the radio a lot back in 2005. Now that they don't play this album very much anymore, I'm able to better make a decision about how I feel about the album.
I listened to American Idiot, Jesus of Surburbia, Holiday, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Give me Novacaine, She's a Rebel, Wake Me Up When September Ends, Extrordinary Girl, and Whatsername. I think the radio made me despise them back a few years ago, but now I can appreciate the album for what it really is. It's a solid punk album with a lot of heart and talent poured into it. That aside, I feel like there were things that could have been done to the album to make it truly groundbreaking. It feels very similar to many of the punk albums that Wheezer and others have produced. This, along with the fact that punk albums don't really appeal to me is probably why the score is the way it is.
Rating: 7.5/10
Track 01 – American Idiot: Makes me nostalgic for Bush’s presidency. Love the drums.
Track 02 – Jesus of Suburbia: I remember how long this song is. It, along with Homecoming, used to be the longest songs on my iPod. The beginning never appealed to me that much, I prefer the later parts. More awesome drums. Is that piano I hear? Not too fond of this part either. The lyrics don’t make much sense. Oh yeah, I love this part. “I don’t care if you don’t care.” “Everyone’s so full of shit, born and raised by hypocrites.” And here come the bells and acoustic guitar. DAT BASS. Awwwww yeeeeeaaaaa, this part’s what I’ve been waiting for, the final part. Tales of Another Broken Home.
Track 03 – Holiday: THE REPRESENTITIVE FROM CALIFORNIA HAS THE FLOOR.
Track 04 – Boulevard of Broken Dreams: I used to love this song much more, but it’s become too whiny for my taste and was way overplayed when it came out. Still love the piano in the background, and the solo part. “Check my vital signs, and no, I’m still alive, and I walk alone.” And the last 30 seconds or so are awesome.
Track 05 – Are We The Waiting – I just know this as the song that comes before St. Jimmy. Yawn…
Track 06 – St. Jimmy: AW SHIT. HERE COMES ST. JIMMY. ONE TWO THREE FOUR. THIS WAS MY FAVORITE MOTHERFUCKING SONG IN MIDDLE SCHOOL. I’LL GIVE YOU SOMETHING TO CRY ABOUT.
Track 07 – Give Me Novacaine: And I knew this as the song that came after St. Jimmy. Yawn…
Track 08 – She’s A Rebel: Not bad. Ugh, my CD’s starting to skip. FFFUUUU-
Track 09 – Extraordinary Girl: CD’s still skipping. Not bad either.
Track 10 – “Where have all the bastards gone?” Getting better, still not standing out like the other tracks, it’s a decent filler track though.
Track 11 – Wake Me Up When September Ends: A very sad song, it always makes me think of 9/11 and the war in Afghanistan. I love when it transitions into the heavier part.
Track 12 – Homecoming: The OTHER ten-minute song on the album. “My heart is beating from me, I am standing all alone. Please call me only, if you are coming home.” One of the only lyrics I remembered from the whole of album. I love the transition into East 12th Street. GET ME THE FUCK RIGHT OUT OF HERE. Haha, I love it. Here comes the rock and roll part. DAT PIANO. DAT SAXAPHONE. DAT GUITAR. SO GET OFF OF MY CASE. OFF OF MY CASE. OFF. OF. MY. CASE. And now for the actual homecoming part of Homecoming. What does he scream during the ending? It’s not on the lyric sheet. It’s something like “NO, FUCK YOU, I DON’T CARE, JUST GO.” Weird.
Track 13 – Whatsername: I love the instrumental part; the lyrics are still too whiny. Did he just rhyme time with time? Ugh…
Score: 8/10

American Idiot – Awesome. That's all I have to say
Jesus of Suburbia – LONG. Normally I don't mind if a song is this long but I got tired of listening to this song after about the first 3 minutes.
Holiday – This song always reminds me of Accepted, but that's probably because I've seen it 10+ times. Good song though.
Give me Novacaine – Meh, it wasn't terrible to listen to, but I didn't like it all that much
Extraordinary Girl – Didn't care much for this one either
She's a rebel – I rather liked this song.
Boulevard of Broken Dreams – I used to like this song more, but it's still good to listen to.
Are We The Waiting – Eh, not bad.
St. Jimmy – It's good. Nothing more, just good.
Letterbomb – Also just good.
Homecoming – This is the better extremely long song.
Wake Me Up When September Ends – You know how songs are connected to memories? Well, that's why I don't like this song. At all.
Whatsername – I liked this song once it actually started halfway through.
Final Score: 7/10
(Also, why are the comments sections for Green Day songs on Youtube always filled with flame wars?)

American Idiot – Nice song, good lyrics, pretty catchy. Seems to have a political message behind it, although I can't be sure what they are trying to say (anarchist?). This was on the radio all the time when I was a kid.
Jesus of Suburbia – I like the variation of instruments at certain parts (piano and xylophone) and the tune. Overall a good song, but, ten minutes? Seriously.
Holiday – Its odd but I recognize this song from my childhood. I didn't know the name of it back then, but it was on the radio all the time. I fucking love this song.
Boulevard of Broken Dreams – OH GOD I RECOGNIZE THIS ONE TOO.
Are We the Waiting – A good song, but nothing I'd probably listen to again.
St. Jimmy – I like this song, but it reminds me a lot of American Idiot. I know they aren't the same songs, but I feel like i could glue them together for a longer version of each.
Give me Novocaine – Average song. Not particularly interesting to me, but its nice to listen to.
She’s a Rebel – Not bad, not good. I don't particularly like songs with repetitive lines accompanied by repetitive instruments, and it seems that this song was just that. If I wanted repetition I would listen to music on YTMND.
Extraordinary Girl – The beginning reminds me of a song in Rise of Nations, but the rest is meh.
Letterbomb – Opening lines: wat. Rest of the song: Eh.
Wake Me Up When September Ends – This song is weird when compared to the rest of the album. Different sound, at least in the begining (I have no idea what they are, as I've no experience with instruments, so I can't tell why it sounds different) and a different pace. Kinda sad too. Very good song, it was popular when I was a kid, and yet another song from this album reminds me of my childhood.
Homecoming – Another meh song. Didn't particularly care for it.
Whatshername – Nice change of pace, similar to When September Ends, and a good closer for the album.

Overall: A very good album, although most of the songs were hit or miss; none landed inbetween. The songs that I did like were also mostly those nameless sounds that I heard on the school bus radio, and it really takes me back.
9/10
Well, I'm gonna listen to it on Spotify while we wait.
1. American Idiot – Ok, I KNOW this was totally totally overplayed to the extreme, but after years of not hearing it? It reminds you how well crafted a song it is. It is a lot of fun, and just to catchy. This is a good song. And I forgot that. Sorry Green Day.
2. Jesus of Suburbia. Eh. Not a big fan of this one. A bit to generic. Meh. Oh wait, it's getting more interesting. How long isthis?…..9 MINUTES. what. A punk band recorded a 9 minute song. Ok then. It'sgetting better. But this could do with being more varied. Oh, this bit at 5:30 with the acoustic guitar and oooooo vocals. Thisis the best bit.
3. Oh fuck yes, Holiday and Boulevard of Broken Dreams. I just really like these songs. Holiday is just a great anthemic rocking song, and ….i just really like Boulevard. Its so good. An unusual choice of theres to make them both one track though. Never heard this version before. This is sort of rock operaish, the way the two tracks merge. ….I still love this song.
4. Are We the Waiting. Hmm. Not doing it for me. Seems like it's trying to hard to be a anthem. Don't like the drum backing. Too plodding. Eh. St Jimmy. This is a lot more like it. Just badass punk rocking, much faster than anythign else I've ever heard from them. Quite Ramone'ish, just fast rocking. Cool.
5. Give Me Novocaine – I am enjoying the switching from gentle acoustic guitar strumming and slide guitar to short bursts of JANGA JANGA JANGA guitar. Cool. She's a Rebel. Pretty cool. Kinda generic, but it's fun. Nothing special.
6. Extraoridanry Girl – Well. I was certainly not expecting an indian bongo beat. Oh, and theres the guitar. This one sorta sounds a lot more pop-punky to me, like a Blink-182 song. Yeah, just compared Green Day to Blink 182. WHATCHA GONNA DO ABOUT IT DEATH THE KID. HUH? Nice drum fills though. Letterbomb – Eh, it's nice.
7. Wake Me Up When September Ends – Aw yeaaaaaah, now we talkin'. A classic of the acoustic punk ballads. I don't know if I'm a sap or nostalgic or what, but I still think this is great. Wonderful production, all the other little instruments in the background, the chimes and tambourines and stuff. It works. And I LOVE the transition into electric rocking. Especially when the guitars WHAM into action at 1:40. What a chorus.
8 Homecoming – Oh god. So long. Green Day do not seem like a 9 minute sogn band. This one has a far better start though. Much better tune, great guitar, enjoying this highly so far. This bit with the mix of acoustic and electric at 3:30 is awesome. diddle0diddle-diddlydeedle dee. SOMELOUDWORDSICANTUNDERSTAND.. This is workign far better as a bic rock epic. it uses more varied parts, i mean. Marching drum beat! Cool. This is so much better. Check those drums. Those actually sound like the ones from American Idiot, nice cameo. Who is this singing the I've got a Rock and Roll _ part? Doesn't sound like Billie Joe anymore. This is really good. Epic ending.
9 Whatshername – Hmm. I sorta think Homecoming should have been the final track. That was such an epic ending to a song, and compared to that this is a lot more meh. Kind of a dissapointing end to the album. Some generic pop-punk song. Meh.
Quite a well crafted album, with some dissapointing filler, but those are made up for by the quality of the hit songs and the 2 rock epics. Shame about the ending. 7.5/10
Also, it wasn't until I looked on songfacts that I found out, holy crap, this thing had a plot! This is a concpt album, which tells one long story…..I HAD NO IDEA. I may listen again at some point, in an attempt to actually understand the lyrics and follow this "plot".

That would explain why he sings "I PLAY THE DRUMS". Ta.
I'm surprised how few people here commented on the storyline. Yes, this album is no ordinary album…it's a PUNK ROCK OPERA.
Link to the story:

1.American Idiot: I love this song. It just grabs you with the guitar intor alone. This could be instrumental and it would STILL be epic.
2.Jesus Of Suburbia:"I'm the son of rage and love, the jesus of suburbia, from the bible of none of the above, on a steady diet of sodapop and ritalin…." FINALLY! someone has written a song about ME!
3. Holiday: I know it's anti-war, but someone get me an army, I wanna INVADE something!
I mean "Sieg heil to president gasman"? Pretty epic.
Boulevard: Sweet. The first Green Day song i ever heard.
Saint Jimmy: This song screams "Here comes Trouble!"
4.Are We The Waiting
This made me cry. The line "The jesus of suburbia is a lie" always chokes me up.
5. Give Me Novacaine: The jaded man's anthem. Classic.
6.Extraordinary Girl:
Meh. Nothing much(PS comparing Green Day to B-182? SACRILEGE!!!)
7.Wake me up when september ends. OH GOD this is the song i'm playing at my funeral….it's so sad….Even sadder: Billie (Green Day's frontman) originally wrote this when his dad died from cancer. BAWWWWWWW….
8. Homecoming: fun fact, Mike Dirnt actually started this song, the first piece written was "Nobody Likes You Likes You" and it sorta snowballed. The only part i don't like is "Rock n Roll Girlfriend". Too much of a non sequiter.
9. Whatsername: Another meh song.
My score: 8.9/10
Should I do another concept story album (21st century breakdown), the album that made Green Day famous (Dookie) or a different band (Sum 41's All Killer No Filler/Bowling For Soup's Fishin' For Woos) as my next pick?

Oh wait, does that mean I can pick an album now? Then I choose
I'm here late for my review of UNKLE – Psyence Fiction before moving on to Green Day.
1. Guns Blazing (Drums of Death, Pt. 1) – I really like the drums, the secondary singer in it and the piano samples. On the other hand, the rapper kinda kills it for me. In my opinion, they don't mix well together in this song.
2. Unkle (Main Title Theme) – More.. atmospheric it seems. Very different from the previous song and not bad. Not bad at all.
3. Bloodstain – Wow. I'm a huge fan of Akira Yamaoka's works and this reminds me a lot of it. Strange title, offbeat but catchy bass, percussions, some strange noises, woman as a singer with a kind of melancholy. Definitely a good point for me.
4. Unreal – Another catchy atmospheric track. Not bad at all again. However, I think it's a little too long for what it is.
5. Lonely Soul – Eerie but not bad. Contrary to Unreal, here, I didn't feel it was over 8 minutes long.
6. Unkle Getting Ahead in the Lucrative Field of Artist Management – What the hell am I listening to? No, seriously, what the fuck was that?
7. Nursery Rhyme/Breather – More Rock-oriented, I see. Not bad, catchy enough.
8. Celestial Annihilation – Electro all the way. Not bad, but really not my taste at all.
9. The Knock (Drums of Death, Pt. 2) – Wait, what? What? Wait? Even if I don't understand clearly the lyrics, the way it's sung made me smile a little. The drums aren't as good as in the first one though.
10. Chaos – Different lady singer. Not bad, kind of meh.
11. Rabbit In Your Headlights – Not bad. Some samples are more irritating than catchy though.
12. Outro (Mandatory) – Hum, Okay? meh…
In the end, I have the same opinion as Hiroman had for it. Aside from one or two songs, the rest isn't really memorable. 6/10 for me.
Now, for the Green Day album, soon in another reply.

Not my fault if you can't wait long enough. Some people here work in the summer, contrary to you kids who can goof around on Internet all days.
Alright, stream of conciousness songnalysis #2
1 American Idiot – "Eugh. I've heard this song so many times before. I particularly don't like this song because it talks about "one nation ruled by the media" and green day has a broadway show, a video game and an upcoming movie. It's catchy sure, but that's pop-punk for you."
2 Jesus of Suburbia – "Oh yeah, this is punk you guys, slow pop-rock with pianos, yeah, this sure is the spirit of rebellion. Oh yeah distorted vocals ooh so edgy. I DON'T CARE I DON'T CARE. Oh god it is still going. This song is too long."
3 Holiday – "Oh man lyrics about war. We are a people's band for sure you guys. Oh man 13 year old kids will eat this shit up like ritalin. This is the intercom part. Oh yeah anti-government lyrics. So edgy. To be fair though this is my favourite song on the album."
4 Boulevard of Broken Dreams – "I hate how much this song targets unhappy preteens. I couldn't find the song on grooveshark except for a version titled BOULEVAR OF THE BROKEN DREAM. I always that he said "sometimes I wish a mother bear would find me" and sometimes I wish the same thing for him. Billie Joe Armstrong is almost 40 years old for fuck's sake. When was the last time he faced any problem Metamucil couldn't fix? I fully dislike this song."
5 Are We the Waiting – "This kinda feels like a concept album that throws hit singles in sloppily and lets the listener fill in the blanks."
6 St. Jimmy – "Holy moly this song pretty much blew right through my head. It was exceptionally forgettable."
7 Give Me Novacaine – "Do people really believe Green Day is a punk band when they release songs like this? So terribly dull"
8 She's a Rebel – "She holds my heart like a hand grenade. My god that explains the cover. I thought it was just some fake punk bullshit."
9 Extraordinary Girl – "This song is thoroughly boring."
10 Letterbomb – "Finally, another pop punk song. I don't what I was listening to for a while there. Some sort of poppy love songs are something. This one is my second favourite."
11 Wake Me Up When September Ends – "God damn it. More brooding songs. I swear reviewers only gave this album such high rating so they could appear 'hip' and 'down with current social trends'
12 Homecoming – "No one cares, no one cares. I don't care for this song. Also fuck Tre Cool and his bitch-ass stage name. What the fuck is this a 50's rock 'n' roll song they say rock 'n' roll enough for it to be. 'I've got a rock 'n' roll house and a rock 'n' roll rock rock rock around the clock'. This song is too long as well."
13 Whatsername – "That last song should have been the last song. They could start and end on the same sort of note. This is another sappy cry-a-long song that completely demolishes any punk cred Green Day ever had, if any."
Well. I didn't talk about the music very much during the songnalysis, but that's what happens sometimes. Okay, the "punk" songs were catchy and fun and inoffensive to the ears. If the albums was 100% those songs I'd probably give it a 5 or a 6. But the awful, sappy, whiny bullshit that was over half of the songs really kept me from enjoying this album. Based on the music solely I'd give it a 3/10.
If I also include the fact that Green Day are about as anti-establishment as McDonalds and are essentially preying on depressed teens then I'd give the a 2/10.
Turns out I got some more time on my hand to do Green day – American Idiot as well.
1. American idiot – Oooh, so that's where it comes from. Kind of an overused song, in movies, in ads, everywhere. Catchy, but still classic and easily forgettable in my opinion.
2. Jesus of Suburbia – This is long… very long… very very long. Too long and not entertaining enough to make you forget about time. Meh on this one.
3. Holiday – I must admit I like the overall rythm of this one a bit. Still classic for a rock song but not bad.
4. Boulevard of Broken Dreams – This one was on a radio quite often. I must say this slow pace is better than the previous songs in my opinion, wouldn't it be for the lyrics… Big meh.
5. Are We the Waiting – Sounds like pop rock. Well, it's maybe better that way. Not bad. Maybe too short actually.
6. St. Jimmy – Hem, okay. How classic is too classic? Not the best and can easily be forgotten.
7. Give Me Novacaine – Okay, now that's bothering me. What I don't really like in many American rock/punk bands is the fact that their guitar riffs are the same in pretty much every song. It's blatant here. Not really original at all…
8. She's a Rebel – Reminds me of the intro of a teen movie. Surely because every teen movie has that kind of song. Actually I now see where it is heading. I always think of The Offspring when I hear that kind of song. Too bad for Green Day, I highly would rather listen to The Offspring instead.
9. Extraordinary Girl – The African percussions are good as an intro. Not bad actually overall even if a bit repetitive.
10. Letterbomb – Aaaah, finally. I like that rythm more. I still think about teen movies but at least it's way more catchy than some previous tracks. My favorite on the album so far.
11. Wake Me Up When September Ends – That one was also on radios and in TV ads or the like I recall. I like the singer's voice here but meh, not really my taste.
12. Homecoming – 9 minutes? No I can't… I mean, there is a reason why that kind of song is better if it lasts, let's say, 3 minutes or 5 minutes maximum. It's very long. The song itself is not bad but If I want to listen to long songs, Dream Theater (I know it's not the same genre but still) does it exceedingly better.
13. Whatsername – I have mixed feelings for this one. Can be forgotten rather quickly. Meh.
I give 5/10 simply because, in my opinion, there doesn't seem to be anything that really stand out among the others. They pretty much sound the same with some variations. Too classic for my taste.
ATTENTION! ATTENTION!
Papahill has had to drop out of the round due to time problems. I fyou would like to take his place, then SAY SO NOW. Perhaps Derpy and Omonom? They were interested before.

Review
I've found that modern music is less than fantastic in terms of lyrical sophistication. American Idiot, however, is quite the exception. This may be the only great concept album of the 21st Century. It begins with the title track, an all out blasting of Bush-era society and the media. This criticism sets up the narrative established in "Jesus of Suburbia", about a young man disenchanted with his boring life. He seeks excitement in "Holiday" and suffers a hangover in the excellent "Boulevard of Broken Dreams". Most of the rest of the album is quite forgettable (though I wish I could forget "Wake Me Up When September Ends").
In this non-stellar midsection, two more characters are introduced: St. Jimmy is a punk rock freedom fighter, and Whatsername is his peaceful foil. These new characters symbolize the war between anger and compassion. The end comes with "Homecoming", in which St. Jimmy kills himself. It's an exciting, Tommy-esque suite that makes for an exciting climax. Finally, "Whatsername" is the denoument of the album, a wistful song which demonstrates the occational emotional catharsis found in punk music. In these ending scenes, the listener realizes that St. Jimmy and Whatsername are both parts of Jesus' personality, and they are lost in the changing times.
While the lyrics are very good, the music unstructured and simplistic in most places. Nothing really caught my ear, and the experimentation was boring as well. Such is the problem with punk music. Despite these shortcomings, American Idiot is one of the best albums of the last decade. It has the power of punk, yet manages to pack in an intelligent story as well. No wonder they made a musical out of it.
Final Score: 8.25 out of 10

1. American Idiot – The title track. It was a big hit when it came out, and it has a pretty good message. Too bad the radio censored it.
2. Jesus of Suburbia – Holy shit, this song is too long. It staggers me how they managed to make a nine minute punk song. The narrative seems to come in here, but it didn't really grab me. The middle is the best part IMO. The moment the chimes came in, they lost me. Very structured near the end. The entire thing is like a a suite, and it's going nowhere.
3. Holiday – Another hit. Nothing special. Kind of a party song.
4. Boulevard of Broken Dreams – I didn't expect the segue from "Holiday", nice touch. If that was the party, then this is the hangover. That in mind, this is the best song on the album, and a Grammy-winner if I'm correct. Gets intense at the end. I wish they'd stopped the tremolo after the first verse. It gets annoying. It reminds me of that voice bit on Animals, by Pink Floyd.
5. Are We the Waiting – I groaned when the guitar came in. It's a slog, honestly.
6. St. Jimmy – Another unexpected segue. A quick one, quite a jam. They're still having trouble with the narrative, though.
7. Give Me Novocaine – Seems like a drug song, though it's no "Comfortably Numb". Yawn.
8. She's a Rebel – meh. Green Day isn't the best at songs about women.
9. Extraordinary Girl – Ooh, bongos. How diverse. I stand by my last statement. Also, it seems like this is about a prostitute.
10. Letterbomb – a bit of an enigma, but nothing special.
11. Wake Me Up When September Ends – Oy, I remember this one. When it came out, my whole fucking class was singing it. It annoys me even more now.
12. Homecoming – Another nine minute song. Actually, this one's better. Reminds me of Tommy, in some ways. I can finally see the story coming out. This is the best of the two suites. Fantastic. Everything is coming together.
13. Whatsername – A good denoument for the epic "Homecoming". The song seems familiar, and it's pretty good. Classic punk heartbreak song. I feel like this could've been a hit.

This is another sappy cry-a-long song that completely demolishes any punk cred Green Day ever had, if any."Well.
…..we're gonna have a problem, aren't we?

That review seemed a bit harsh. I don't really like Green Day because I think there are much better punk bands (that and I don't really like punk music), but to give it a 3 out of 10 seems like you did that just because he hated on Justin Beiber (although I agree with the "one nation ruled by the media" being ironic :). I thought we were above this kind of garbage.

I understand where you are coming from and I agree that reviewing based on anything other than the album is moronic and childish. But I genuinely did not enjoy this album. There were about 3 tracks I like and I found the rest dull and repetitive. Maybe I am a tad biased because I have had many angry discussions with pop-punk fans in the past. But to assume I rated it so low because pwnzer hates Justin Beiber is a stretch. To be honest, I'd probably give MW2.0 a similar score because it is dull and repetitive and Ludacris's rap part in Baby is embarrassing.
So yes, we are above this garbage and no, 3/10 is still the score.

Fair enough. Just making sure there wasn't anything else behind it. By the way guys, a 5/10 is average, not bad.
I notice you guys mention that Jesus Of Suburbia and Homecoming are way too long. I avoid feeling that by treating the segments as different songs, but I get what you're saying. In fact, I think the band picked up on that too when writing the music for "21st Century Breakdown." The longest song on that album clocks in at 5 minutes and 21 seconds. After reading Blubber's comments, I'm starting to wish I picked Nimrod, Kerplunk or Dookie.
A tad delayed response but Amerian Idiot, great album and many people have pointed out the many reasons why. While its not my favourite Green day album, I still think its the best in what it achieves what the previously mentioned reasons which were prevoius mentioned by other people.
Favourites would of Jesus Of Suburbia and Holiday, no actually song which hits as "least preferred" because they are all pretty sweet.
8.4/10
Listened to it, couldn't really care. I don't hate it, but there is no way I'd put this on a cd or anything, and I can't even imagine I'd ever pay for this. This was pretty much of par for the course though, as I wasn't expecting anything from it I'd particularly care for. Really, I barely noticed when the songs changed, because they all sounded a bit too much alike. I mean, it's good to have a consistent sound, but this felt like they weren't even trying to do anything new or different. But then again, I don't know what the rest of their music sounds like, so there's that. I don't think that anything like this would ever be my cup of tea though, so they might be quite exceptional at making whatever kind of music you would choose to call this, but I wouldn't know or care, because this just isn't my kind of music.
Homecoming is the only song that sticks out in my mind, mostly because it seemed to me like they had a few unfinished songs and just kind of mashed them together. I feel like if they had expanded that and made individual songs around each concept it would have helped the album, or at least made a decent LP or something.
5/10 Didn't ever find myself liking the music much ever, but never found myself disliking it either.
Yes this is late. That's because I knew pretty much what I was in for and was kind of waiting until I had absolutely nothing else to do.
Most people seem to have responded to this one, but I'll send out some PM's to those who haven't. I'm glad there was actually some form of discussion here, this round worked well.
Next album has been picked BTW. It's THE WALL by PINK FLOYD, Vulcan's choice. Everyone else get their reviews in while we wait for a download link.

14. Feel Good Ghosts (Tea Partying Through Tornadoes) – Cloud Cult (ArdentGamer)

In the Flesh?: Looooooong intro to get to the lyrics, almost half the song. I don't think this operates well as a song on its own, but as part of the album it acts as a really good opening song. OH GOD THEY'RE BOMBING US.
.
The Thin Ice: Crying baby? Okay. Weird song. Moving on… its still slow, like the song previous. I feel like I'm still on the intro.
.
Another Brick in the Wall pt. 1: At this point it is very obvious to me that this entire album (or at least the first half) is really just one huge song. The transfer from "The Thin Ice" to this song was pretty seamless. This song is kinda ominous and dark. Still slow like an intro.
.
The Happiest Days of Our Lives: Apparently incoming helicopters signify happiness. I don't see anything in this song linking it to the title. I wasn't very impressed with it otherwise.
.
Another Brick in the Wall pt. 2: Blocked in my country? Oh hell no. Good thing I've heard this before. It was one of my brother's favourites, and he'd usually have something playing in his room when I came over to visit, so I heard this a lot. A pretty good song but, all in all, just another song in the album.
.
Mother: Meh. This song wasn't all that remarkable.
Goodbye Blue Sky: Yes. I like this song. I've never been fond of guitars as they appeared in this song (acoustic?) but they did good enough here to appease me. I'm also liking all the non-musical sound effects they have in The Wall thus far.
.
Empty Spaces: Is it just me, or does the start of this song seem like something right out of the original StarCraft? I feel like I'm building up for a zerg rush! Its awesome. I didn't particularly like the singer. Sounds like he's just moaning. And then they cut right in the mid-
.
Young Lust: -dle of a song, to go to the next one. I finally feel like the intro is over now, and we are getting into the real action on this album. Its picking up speed and sound in this song. Overall though, this song is "meh" to me.
.
One of My Turns: Starts out creepy like Young Lust, but not anything like starcraft. Well kinda. But it uses pianos i think, and an organ? Those sound out of place. Especially whatever it is that sounds like an organ. And then it continues like that… almost to the end. I didn't like this song.
.
Another Brick in the Wall pt. 3: So short. Why? Too short for me to think anything of it.
.
Goodbye Cruel World: Again, really short. and it ends so abruptly. Should be attached to the previous song to make a proper length. Together, the two songs are still "meh."

Hey You: I like it, I really do. This is perhaps one of the better songs on the album in my opinion. But at this point, more than halfway through the album, I guess I'm going to have to settle with the whole thing being mellow and slow. I don't particularly like this genre (progressive rock?).
.
Is There Anybody Out There?: Nope. At least not me. I didn't like this song until it got to 1min25sec in, at which point I was pretty content with it. Is that a violin I heard somewhere back there? Fifty fifty on this one.
.
Nobody Home: Starts out sounding like domestic abuse, and then cuts to this jazzy piano. What the hell is going on here? I particularly liked this song, mostly for the piano, but the singer was good too.
.
Vera: Ehhhhhhhhhh………. this borders on like and dislike. I'm not sure why. It would be like meshing a song I didn't like and a song I did like together to form something inbetween.
.
Bring the Boys Back Home: Oh god. Radical change from the rest of the album. I wasn't expecting a spontaneous opera. I didn't like this one at all, unfortunately. Well maybe a little.
.
Comfortably Numb: Wooooo, not sure if it has anything to do with the song, but I had a major fit of dejavu while listening to this. Like I'd heard it before, a knew the lyrics before they said them, even tho I don't recognize the song. That was pretty cool, and aside from that this song was of top notch quality. I liked it. Rather lengthy tho.
The Show Must Go On: Indeed it must. This song was another "meh."
.
In the Flesh: This was a pretty good song. I didn't particularly like the lyrics(I know they don't actually mean what they are saying), but I've never been one to judge music by the lyrics, so aside from that this was a pretty good song.
.
Run Like Hell: Oh, how like this song. This is the kind of song I was expecting when I opened up this album, but most of the songs here aren't anything like it.
.
Waiting for the Worms: I liked this song too. For some reason that guy on the loudspeaker type thing in the background towards the middle of the song makes me think of North Korea and Kim Jong Il.
.
Stop: This was a weird interlude type thing, but I liked it.
.
The Trial: I couldn't stop grinning at this song. It was, in a word, excellent. Definitely worth listening to the entire album just to set up for this song.
.
Outside the Wall: Really good song for the album's closer, but I don't think I'd listen to it on my own. I get the feeling that I'm watching the credits to a tragic movie while I listen to this. And… hold on… does this song merge with "In the Flesh?," the first song on the album? SERIOUSLY? THE WHOLE ALBUM LOOPS!
WHAT BLACK MAGIC IS THIS.
.
Overall I was going to give this a 5/10 before I listened to the last quarter, but I'm going to bump that up to a 7 because of the last six songs. I get the feeling that I would totally understand the popularity of this album a little bit more if I were high, but that's probably cuz it came out of the 1970's. Final score of 7 out of 10 from me.

Disk 1
1. In the Flesh?: I was a bit startled the first time I heard the jarring guitar intro, but was then automatically awestruck. I find the opening of the album very grandiose, very Queen-esque. One of my favorites. LIGHTS! SOUND EFFECTS!
2. The Thin Ice: Not much going on here, except for the establishment of the story. Picks up after we claw the thin ice.
3. Another Brick in the Wall Part 1: first and least diverse of the three parts. Pink learns his dad is dead.
4. The Happiest Days of our Lives: Mostly serves as an intro into…
5. Another Brick in the Wall Part 2: WE DON'T NEED NO EDUCATION! Iconic, every bit of it. How can you have any pudding if you haven't had your meat?!
6. Mother: The lyrics are in classic contrast to the peaceful music. Kinda like "Bad Moon Rising". It's great. This song also happens to aptly describe my mum.
7. Goodbye Blue Sky: A rather dark song. THe synths add to the effect very well. Nice WWII Allegory as well.
8. Empty Spaces: Another mainly lead-in song. See if you can find the hidden message!
9. Young Lust: Filling in the spaces with random sluts, it seems. This song always leaves me with a quiet discomfort.
10. One of my Turns: They really know how to build suspense. The dark undertones never cease to disappoint.
11. Don't Leave Me Now: The biggest self-pity song on a self-pity album. THe emotional atrophy present is palpable. It feels choking.
12. Another Brick in the Wall Part 3: The wall is complete. This part isn't as great as two, and certainly more intense, but I think it's still pretty awesome.
13. Goodbye Cruel World: Probably the saddest song on the album. The last "Goodbye" is quite unsettling.
Disk 2
1. Hey You: I love this song, it's fantastic. It really captures the alienation present as a theme of the album. Unique musical structure as well.
2. Is There Anybody Out There?: The first time I heard this, I freaked out and turned it off for a bit. The most frightening song on the album, IMO. The guitar into the next track helped loosen things up. It's quite pretty
3. Nobody Home: I think this one proves that the third quarter of the album is the most powerful.
4. Vera: Anyone seen Dr. Strangelove? Vera sings during the credits. Nice strings.
5. Bring the Boys Back Home: Proves that The Wall is antiwar in essence. Kind of overdoes it, though. A choir? Really? Anyway, he's starting to lose it.
6. Comfortably Numb: One of the best songs ever, certainly the best on the album. A detour from the main story, I think. It's about a time when Roger had to take some painkillers before a concert, BTW. It's got to be the saddest drug song ever. I think it blends together everything great about the band.
7. The Show Must Go On: I feel like this song isn't really necessary. It reminds me of Queen, though.
8. In The Flesh: A reprise of the album's opener. Here's where it goes all Nazi.
9. Run Like Hell: Sounds very 80s-ish to me. Awesome song, too bad it's about a neo-nazi riot.
10. Waiting for the Worms: The Hammers March. It's a whole different kind of darkness, one that fills me with an urge to defecate.
11. Stop: A very quick tranfer into….
12. The Trial: The album's dramatic climax. Pink puts himself on trial for his imaginary crimes, and is finally forced to tear down the wall. It's amazing.
13. Outside the Wall: The denoument. Confused me a bit. Also completes the cicle with the first song.
I'll post a complete review and score as soon as I can.
I actually own this album and have heard it a number of time. A quality album, definitely not my fav by Floyd though. I prefer the other of the Big Three, Dark Side and Wish You Were Here. I'll provide an an actual track by track review in a bit though.
Uhhh….i only got from "Outside The Wall" to "The Trial" Where's the rest? Link please

Review
I had a chance to see The Wall Live when it came to my town. Once I heard the actual album, I kicked myself for not going. I absolutely love Pink Floyd, and The Wall might be their best work. It’s thrilling, theatrical, terrifying at times. And it’s certainly no Dark Side of the Moon; in fact, it’s a whole different beast. And what a beast it is.
To understand the album, one must first understand the story and concept. While it is a semiautobiographical account of Roger Waters’ life, it also deals with the concept of the Wall, which protagonist Pink builds to shun himself from all other people after years of emotional hardship. After enclosing himself in the wall, he feels crunching loneliness. He imagines himself as a fascist dictator leads a neo-Nazi riot. After feeling guilty, he then puts himself on trial and is forced to tear down the wall. Through all this, a common antiwar sentiment can be seen, as well as an adhesion towards the alienation Pink has put himself and his loved ones through.
While the story is pivotal, the music is where the album shines like a crazy diamond. It’s bold, theatrical, exhilarating, monstrous et cetera. It’s like nothing the Floyd has done before or since. And when it comes together with the story, it creates one of the greatest albums ever, an amazing operatic work of self pity. And I’ll never stop kicking myself for not seeing it live.
Final Score: 9.75 out of 10
Don't really know what to say about this. It has some pretty good songs on it, and it's a pretty decent concept album, but to be honest I don't really like many concept albums, because the only time I really listen to music deeply is when I'm going somewhere, and I get the sense that I wouldn't have been able to finish this in a single back and forth trip, which means I would still not have been paying attention to the concept, because I'd never hear it in a single sitting really. As far as the songs go, the only songs that stand out above the others are Another Brick in the Wall Part 2 (Because it's kind of ingrained there from being "That Song") Goodbye Blue Sky (I just really like it), and Comfortably Numb. The rest was pretty unremarkable to me really.
6.75/10 still wouldn't make disk of it or anything, but it's a good album, and I think it's worth listening to.
