Stan notices his brother's absence and goes to look for him. Upon entering his brother's home (the Mystery Shack) he goes downstairs and finds the machine and accidentally activates it. Stan was too close and was about to be sucked in… But his brother pushed him out of the way, getting sent to another dimension. Stan not knowing what happened freaks out and sees the last book that wasn't hidden yet book number one. He looks through it trying to find a way to bring his brother back but before he could the Government who was funding the endeavor shows up demanding results thinking that Stan is his brother. Stan runs away, using 30 years to get supplies and clear his name. He fakes his own death (Which I mean Stanley's death) to get the government off his tail. He goes and buys the property and the surrounding forest to find the missing journals.

Using the primary book#1 he starts building the machine to bring his brother back, but before he can continue his crusades he gets a call from his nephew… his great niece and nephew are going to spend the summer with him because he was too distant.
