Objectivity is more important than "intellectual transparency" because, quite frankly, racist propoganda from the 1850's to the 1950's were blatantly showing what the writers felt, but treated as fact because they had no real obligation to stat stuff like facts, or truth, or fairness. Just getting their point across about how much everyone who wasn't of the correct race, religion, or skin tone, was an inferior species.
