Yeah social issues and such in videogames aren't important all the time, but still great to have anyway.
One good example would be Spec Ops: The Line. Great game with a deep message.
What I don't like is the fact that most prominent anti-GG voices seems to preach that all videogames must have social issues and gender politics and whatnot.
A game can be fun, be art, or have a deep message. Sometimes all three.
However, limiting the amount of games to only adhere to a certain perspective is basically trying to take away the freedom to make any game you want.
