To be honest, the revelation of Gamergate being permanent is kind of depressing.
Only because I had hoped that people would have the conscious to not be total asshats so GamerGate wouldn't have needed to happen.
But no, we have people with with their heads cemented into their assholes to the point where GamerGate has to be a permanent thing to try and keep them in check
I think by permanent, he means that the ethos will stay even though the movement will evolve. If the corrupt journalists, devs, et al. won't budge, the people who have participated and support GG will move onto making their own sites, their own games, and their own award ceremonies. Let them have their dwindling audiences and pretentious art games until it's just the LWs, Leigh, and Kuchera sitting around stewing in their own unwarranted self-importance. Everyone else will be too busy having fun and actually playing games to notice.
