GamerGate - "independent press"

I feel like the fact that people were none too pleased with IGN firing Jeff Gertsmann for giving Kane and Lynch a poor review should be relevant here.

There are definitely some big problems within IGN as well, but they aren't the focus of GamerGate yet because they aren't the main aggressors in this situation. In fact, they've smartly stayed out of things.

While Kotaku/Polygon/etc continue to insult and ridicule the gaming community as misogynistic (which has only served to drive the GamerGate crowd into a bigger frenzy), IGN has remained mostly quiet, keeping the heat off themselves.

I'm sure IGN will get its turn eventually, just not yet. Right now we're focusing on the main transgressors in the present issue. Once that's dealt with, then it might be time.
