His swag is too powerful

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 Golden: The Animation (good lord what a title) is an… expansion of sorts on the original Persona 4 anime. Most of the episodes can be seen as additions to the original, but the first one (where this GIF is from) and the seventh episode (the fight with Ameno-Sagiri) are sort-of replacements.

It's pretty awesome though: the initial fight with the Hablerie has Yu absolutely wipe the FLOOR with them (and they are more numerous: there are a few THOUSAND of them), and the fight with Magatsu Izanagi is more along the lines of the fights against Margaret (switching plenty of Personas during the fight).

The other episodes are pretty good: plenty of slice of life stuff with more on the characters we've grown to love and some very funny things as well (the high points being Yukiko during the quiz in episode 4 and Naoto thinking she's being attacked by zombies in episode 8.

Yu does seem a lot more capable in Golden than in the original: the intro suggets he maxed out his Social Qualities, goes out of his way to get his Persona powers and steps into the TV world instead of being pulled into it and does plenty of other smooth stuff (see the above). This has hatched the theory that Yu is in fact in a New Game+, making this some sort of bizarre Groundhog Day loop.
