Milk is natural, but if you were to drink it straight from a cow, goat or any other milk producing animal except your own mother, you'd end up with lots of unwanted bacteria which could lead to nasty illnesses, like tuberculosis. Pasteurization takes the raw milk, processes it via heating and cooling and makes it the safe milk we all know and love. It might not be natural to make it safe, but the source where it comes from is 100% natural.
