How do you do that? This fandom's extensive fanart has shown that it's possible to reinterpret these characters in a lot of different settings and forms while still retaining the primary essence of that character's personality and thematic structure. How then, did Hasbro manage to find the one way to completely fail in this regard? They had to try to fuck this up.
