But really the only explanation I can think of for how this would work is time passes slower on the Human side of the mirror portal. So maybe on the pony side 10 years passed while on the human side only a few years passed. Also since the human side is an alternate universes maybe the CMC were just born sooner over there and are only a few years younger than their sisters. /headcanon
