The more divided the fandom becomes over what I find myself more and more inclined to call the "G4.5 era" of FiM, I am seeing more and more bronies becoming dismissive of Lauren Faust deserving credit as the show's creator, as if she was only one small factor that contributed to it being good.

The fact of the matter is that Faust was the only part of the show that truly was irreplaceable. Without her, the show would not exist, period. Just looking at what the show has gone through from her leaving should be evidence enough of that, but unfortunately more and more bronies are drawing lines in the sand as they become more defensive about what is happening now that she's gone.

In 2010 you could have taken the exact same pool of talent minus Faust and had them reboot the franchise, but you would gotten something fairly forgettable like Hasbro's other "girly shows" that would have been largely ignored by adults. Lauren Faust was the one who had ideas for how to break the mold, and you can tell by how "safe" Hasbro is playing it with Equestria Girls that she had nothing to do with it.
