I'm pretty sure some of /pol/ (not all of it) support Russia genuinely for a number of reasons. The LWO statements, Joe and Hunter Biden's money laundering in Ukraine prior to the war, Zelensky being Jewish and so on.

It can boil down to more than "le edgy contrarian" as much as you want to make it that simple
