For Blood 2 I know it was due to GT Interactive forcing a sequel to be rushed before they were bought by Infogrames (now the modern day Atari, which is simply a result of buying the rights to the name as trust me the Atari of today is in no way the Atari of the 1970s). For Shadow of War, WB basically got greedy and forced them to include Microtransactions and lootboxes (and later WB went so far as to patent the Nemesis System so no other devs can use it). FEAR 2 I thought was fine even if I'll admit the game did lack some of the visceral nature of its predecessor, it was probably just a small victim of trying a bit too hard in spots to compete with CoD (and FEAR 3 was farmed out to a different dev so that one's not really on Monolith).
