No One Is Immune to Bias

Genetic fallacy; it's very true that you should be wary of pro-Russian sources promoting biased information in favor of Russia, and I completely agree that you should apply close examination because of this, but it's naive to think that any country or other countries with vested interest in said country's success wouldn't engage in propaganda. Controlled misinformation has been a hallmark of warfare for at least the last century good or bad.

Isn't one of Putin's "goals" the "denazification" of the Ukrainian government (likely by installing his own puppet regime), and to also prevent the expansion of NATO? I doubt Russia would be content with just keeping the occupied regions as that would mean "Nazi" Ukraine would still exist, still border Russia, and Ukraine would likely apply for NATO ASAP once they surrendered the disputed territories to the Russians. And I doubt Zelenskyy would want to surrender his government over so easily.

Anyway, talks are to continue in the next few days and I have no idea what actually happened at these talks as nowhere reputable has detailed the talks so far, so I don't know where you got the notion that Ukraine did "everything they could to keep the war going instead of reaching for an agreement." For all we know, Russia could have made completely unrealistic demands.
