In certain cases you are contractually obligated to make an attempt.
Once I got called out because I noticed there was a TV crew filming the premises so I sneakily left and changed my work route to not bother them.

Turns out there was a fine print mentioning that TV crews there are a semi-regular occurrence, and if I were wearing my standard uniform, I was required to pretend they weren't there and carry on, and I quote, "without breaking stride".

I broke stride so they told me next time they would break my knees.
