rter rated you 5/10 about 3 hours ago: DJ was very nice. Shoe game was great. However, did not review paperwork with songs wanting to be played, prior to calling. Paperwork is tedious, but clues you in to your couples wants and dislikes. And if they take the time to write it- play it and similar genre and type of songs. We talked a week before wedding- DJ, not company rep should be initiating, interviewing, interacting with clients from get go so we can get a feel for one another, so the DJ is actually interested, involved, invested- and- knows what the couples/clients want vs a phone in show up plug it in and do what they do because they've done it before. Which is how I would describe our experience. Most songs we put down were NOT played. The ones that were, were defaults, i.e. YMCA, electric slide. Even the ones starred were not played. I had to request cupid shuffle which 1-I starred said its brides fav, if gone when played, play again later when bride is back. 2- played at inopportune time, meaning packed the dance floor like it does- started another good dance song, then immediately cut off because it was garter and bouquet time- we all sighed and grumbled because after cupid shuffle ready to keep it going. We needed to do those things it was a bummer for the timing. 3- it packs a dance floor! That song needs to be played as most interactive dance songs to get people to floor then follow with string of good dance songs to keep it going. Which if done earlier as a starred, must have song - some happy dancers would've been out longer. I used to go out dancing a lot. I know what songs keep people dancing and songs that clear the floor that may be good songs but not dance songs/hard/akward to dance to. I had many good dance songs I put down that people can sing and dance to, which always makes for a more enjoyable time. I wanted a funny outgoing DJ/emcee that would keep things flowing and add comments that make people laugh/ highlight personslity, etc. From very start of reception hands off music so they could eat. I get it. Just play a better string of hands off music. It was ok, not mad at it. Not happy with it- mediocre- but it got my attention because I didn't like it, didn't know it, felt it could've been better as I noticed from back of tent and said outloud what is this?! I didn't feel like it fit the vibe. Bad default mix in my opinion. Not horrible, could be better. I literally said the same thing outloud- now from back of property bad song grabbing my attention negatively when 1st open dance floor song was played, it was a terrible 70sish? Song that no one knows, thus not interested in. Thus, empty floor. There are many disco era songs well known well liked default dance songs. Starting with chicken dance, YMCA, Brick House anyone? Everyone! Because it's a known song, September? etc. Disco can be done well with a sprinkle of dance songs. Get people out, break ice and akwardness, then start string of known music that is also good beats to dance to. Draw em out, keep em there. Keep it flowing, DJ 101. Plus outgoing personality. Dance floor would be full, then a dance floor clearing song would come on. Read the room, if you start a song and everyone bails, replace it immediately. Call it out, make it funny, that song doesn't seem to be too popular, lets try this one...keep if flowing. No need to follow through all the way when it's not working. Now, in C defense. I did not hear ALL the songs, and people were allowed to make requests, and I don't know what they asked for. But I don't think there were a lot of requests. Garter dance song was wrong song also. We requested on phone with ), Pony, and got his default of Pour Some Sugar On Me, which he mentioned is what he usually plays and he did. But not what we wanted. The night was still good. Overall we are happy with our wedding as a whole and would call it a success. I would not reccomend e as a first draft pick, or 2nd, probably not 3rd. But I would as a need a DJ can't get some other ones first who would be more personable where you deal with the person you are hiring frim day one, not a body that shows up. No disrespect, but people deserve better the day/event they hire you for. It is incredibly important to them, they remember it the rest of their lives. They need someone who is invested from day 1, conversation 1 and multinle times up until if need be. The guy who calls when inquiries are made- his company? Who lines things out? Amazing. Great personality, we even excitedly said "are you out DJ?" You sell it, well. We were sold on you. THAT is what each person should get to decide themselves. Do they like what they are hearing, the personality, the buy in, are they gelin? It's misleading to a point. But you, are not what we got, but what we wanted. I talked to two other DJs, actual DJs who handle business and clients direct. One we couldn't get for our day, the other I unfortunatelvtalked to after we booked with Co wanted the other guy because he was incredibly responsive, professional, offered great services, yes better and more. And I feel he would've listened to what we wanted and made it happen. But we paid a deposit already. That's the only reason we didn't change. I wish we would have. The DJ came, played music, slayed the shoe game. In some peoples eyes thats a win. To a point it is. But was it done well? We're still a tad frustrated, there's your answer.
