Super Smash Brothers Ultimate - The history of gatekeeping failing v2.0

In the end, we can only be sure of one thing: Goku will never be in Smash.

Unless used for the sake of demoralizing another, this used to not really be gatekeeping. Rather, I think a large portion of the fanbase is so obsessed with theorizing with who's coming next and scrambled for anything resembling a pattern to at least narrow down potential contenders.

Problem is, Smash Wii U DLC and Smash Ultimate DLC smashed all patterns and we only know one thing for certain: The character must be from a video game. So pretending there even is any rhyme or reason since then can only be used to demoralize another.

Also Joker, being from a spinoff of a spinoff of a spinoff of a spinoff to a novel, proves that the franchise doesn't even need to originate from a video game.
