Pokémon - Ability: Defeatist

Looks and behavior reminds me of the urutau bird (aka Potoo, or MOOOOOM bird), they're nocturnal critters and apparently they can even hunt and eat bats.

But they sleep by day pretty much like the second panel, and if for whatever reason you manage to find one in daytime, they won't react or protest to being touched at all. Some say it's because it's trying to camouflage as dead wood and it's over-committed in keeping the disguise. Others say that it's just them admitting defeat and welcoming whatever fate you have for them for failing their Stealth Check.

Well, maybe a bit less pennaceous than that

Not that it’d matter much since feathers on T. rex as a whole is still pretty debatable.
