This deal has nothing to do with "filthy gaijin vandalizing their work". It's primarily going to focus on anime that aren't licensed by streaming sites and won't have any effect on what shows foreign streaming sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation can license. It's just a way to make some extra money back on shows that go unlicensed or older shows that currently have no legal method of streaming instead of piracy being the only way to watch them.

Plus, according to other articles about the project, one of the biggest financial backers for this project is an American investment firm. If this was really about stopping gaijin from interfering with the anime industry, then why would an American investment firm be involved in this at all?
