Counter-Signal Memes - Internet in a nutshell

When you get likes:
"So many people agree with what I've said, this consensus clearly proves that my opinion was right all along!"

When you get dislikes:
"So many people disliked my comment, that means I've said something true that struck a nerve of many people whose opinion is wrong!"

The problem is that society has been pushing the whole "Haters gonna hate"/"hoes mad"/"mmmm love the salt" meme for too long that some people are using it as a coping mechanism for legitimate criticism about bad decisions/ideas.
