I guess they were going for the "roommates" approach with that idea, but yes, I can see how this could easily be translated differently if you kind of just watch these scenes casually without context, which you certainly could for this type of show.

If you're asking me, they should have just put them all in the same house and given them distinct and individualized rooms so as to show that they all sleep separate.
