Centrists are not against believing in stuff, centrists are against both the left and the right because they have beliefs that are the reason we are centrists and not leftists or rightists.
They take what they think it works and discard the rest. This, by necesity, means that they are at odds with people who adhere to ideas fully to the left or the right because while some of them might be good, they come with a lot of baggage they do away by being, you know, centrists
