Someone pointed out to me that you basically got to see pink diamond's character arc in reverse, seeing her from her best at first and looking further and further back into her past with each update to realize she wasn't always a good person, and in fact didn't think too hard about other people's feelings. Sometimes this was because she didn't realize how much she meant to people, but other times it was just because she was a fucking brat. Did she fuck up a lot? Oh lord yes. Did she forget to think about how her son would end up inheriting her problems? Yuuuuuup. Did her decisions ultimately make everything better? Surprisingly yes.

Star vs has the problem of "Why did you outright decide to go the full magic erasing bomb with this solution?" instead of say, making her solution severely nerf the power of magic in general rather than make it kill so many people? Or literally anything else?

I got bored with the show after three seasons (which I only watched out of morbid curiosity) but when I saw this, I forced myself to binge the last season.

Good lord, that was an awful way to end the show. Not only did Star commit genocide, but she also forcibly merged earth and the other world (possibly other dimensions too) without anyone's knowledge or consent.

What's really disturbing is that the people commenting on the site I watched the ending aren't even fazed by this. They're too busy feeling sad that the show ended without even acknowledging Star killing off what was obviously a strange but probably still "natural" part of life.

It's like a person shooting someone in a mall and no one even calls the cops. What the hell, guys.
