You know, I get that artists should be compensated for the work, but I hate this condescension thing where they act like their viewers are idiots who don’t understand the concept of “money” or “purchasing things.” I know that venting probably makes the artists feel better, but it’s going to end up driving potential customers away in the long run.

I’m well aware. The problem is that the choosing beggar type these messages are directed toward are lacking in self-awareness, so they either won’t get it, or simply won’t care, with the added “benefit” of making the artist look like they have serious entitlement issues.

As a sidenote, communism doesn’t mean you wouldn’t get paid for your art. It means that the government would set the prices that you- and every other artist- would be allowed to sell your services at.
