Pokémon - I never asked for this

PMD2 is, to my available memory, the only videogame to have made me cry actual tears. And on top of that, to still be worth revisiting every few years and still evoke the same reaction at the same moment. Sure, it's got narmy JRPG dialogue, but it's all just a charm to drop your defenses when they turn it all back on you and make you realize that, through this cheesy journey, you'd grown to care about your partner. As a player, you can't bear to see them break down, not while knowing that in a few seconds you won't be there to pick them up or tell them it's ok. They'll just let it all out, all alone without you, before having to pick themselves up and try to get through life on their own.
