I like how people think that pyramids are proof that aliens visited various cultures. But here's the truth. If you don't have a rather sophisticated understanding of Pi, you can't build anything with round edges. Your plans will always be off. So if you want to build something big, and you don't understand Pi, what can you do? Right angles are easy, how about a square foundation. Okay now what are you gonna do. Make a tower? It'll fall over. So why not have each floor be a smaller square than the one before it? Brilliant, you just invented the pyramid.
