I saw some people talking about the potential for Rose not being Pink Diamond's killer, and that if it was the case it would strip Steven's reason for trying to be a better person than her… But she STILL messed up hard in other ways. Condemning all the other Rose Quartz's to imprisonment and maybe eventual death. Putting Bismuth away because her ideology was too extreme, but in the end she turned out to be right that Shattering is what ended the war.

While shattering did end the wat, it also got 99% of Earth's gems corrupted by the diamond attack. Clearly not Rose's idea of the right way to end the war. She knew escalating the war would only cause Homeworld to retaliate with everything they had, and that the rebellion wouldn't stand a chance. Now I don't believe Rose was perfect, although we have most likely lost our main reason for questioning Rose's moral rightness. I'm sure Crewniverse won't let us think Rose only did good. I think a good opportunity to show a different side of her would be revealing how and why she started the rebellion in the first place. All we've ever been told is "The Earth is a beautiful place, where you can be yourself." While this may be true for the gems, there's got to be a little more to this story. What if, upon arriving on Earth, her first assignment was to, say, "deal with" the indigenous species? And what if, say, she followed her orders?
