Okay its like this. King Crimson has two parts Epitaph and King Crimson proper. Epitaph can see 10 seconds into the future, King Crimson can "Erase time" for about those ten seconds. Anything that happens in Epitaph's view MUST happen unless acted on by The user/King Crimson's ability. SO Epitaph has the ability to LOCK cause and effect of what it's user sees unless the user/KC acts against it.

King Crimson's ability allows for its user to selectively suspend cause and keep effects during the "Erased time".

To give an example if Diavolo fires a gun at a can. Normally the bullet will hit the can and fall over. However if he fires a gun at a can then uses King Crimson on the bullet before it hits the can then the can being hit by the bullet never happens. So the bullet continues on its path. After the Eraced time ends the bullet will continue on while the can was never hit. To Diavolo the bullet basically phased through the can but to people observing the bullet seemingly skipped over it. So anything King Crimson interacts with will have it's causes erased and everything else continues normally although it goes with the memory of the events being skipped over. the range of such an ability isn't clear.

So KC has a massively powerful defensive ability being able to skip over the parts of the fight where he would be injured. If he uses Epitaph on someone they are locked into a pattern he knows and can avoid via pre planing or KC.
