Y’know, maybe I’m going to sound like a SJW but I’ve always hated this “the guy has to make the first move” mentality. Serena’s signals may be clear for the viewers, but from a in-universe perspective they’re clearly subtle and not even deliberate.

She looks like the typical submissive girl who acts all shy and tries to avoid expressing her feelings, just because she thinks her prince charming will suddenly start noticing her out of nowhere.

SHE’S the one who’s interested in him, it’s HER fault if nothing has happened yet. Ash doesn’t need to “deserve” anything.
