I always wonder why Disney hasn't even consider localizing this comic earlier. My guess is that Disney U.S. is more sensitive than Disney Italy, and that PKNA's violence might tarnish Donald's family-friendly image like how they disowned Runaway Brain for a long time due to how dark its plot is, though they finally acknowledged it in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. I appreciate Disney for bringing PKNA to the U.S., especially after the success of Afterlife with Archie.
