Because, most of the reaction on Tumblr, Reddit, Youtube, etc, has been really good.

Can't say anything about 4chan because its still dead, but /v/ hates everything.

Undertale needed none of that fancy stuff to be good, though. In fact, no game needs any of that to be good. I can name several games that have all that and they suck big time.

Just like Final Fantasy VII was as good as it is without needing fancy modern elements, the first Pokemon games were also that good without them, and nothing has changed to make them need them anytime soon.
