For some reason for Playstation that was never an issue, I think I've abstracted the idea – "X shape" vs "X letter", "I'm holding the controller with shapes, and if anything, if they ask me to press a letter just push the not-shape button".

Now the XBox? The sole reason I hate QTEs. Well used I think they're an acceptable mechanic, but I have decades of pressing X, Y A and B in the Nintendo layout. It's not some Battleduty that's going to make me forget it.

Nintendo did it right with the GameCube. Each button was different from the others, save for the X and Y buttons, so memorization was almost unnecessary.
