Behold, games turning from durable goods to non-durable goods.

Do you want to play that game forever and ever? If it needs connection to game servers, forget about it when next generation comes and they pull the plug. Not to mention the "we ran into problems, so you cannot buy or install the game anymore. Also, for people who still have the game we're pushing updates to silently uninstall them for you."
