If people feel like it's okay to harass people then there will be someone that does it. I think what's important is making sure in our community it's not okay to do that. This involves calling out, downvoting, and banning people who are harassing or suggest harassing (we already do this). Part of it also involves not creating "targets". Like it's okay to have posts about Milo or somebody but when we have a whole bunch of posts about an individual is generally not a good idea because while most of us will just point and laugh from the sidelines, some people will actually go and harass them. Finally, we need to make sure in our subreddit culture to discourage people from engaging with GamerGate. If you want to do that go to AgainstGamergate. For example, we get an automod autoremove when someone posts with negative aggregate karma. It's really annoying sometimes because we have people who like shitposting in KiA and of course get downvoted there and have negative karma overall so we have to keep manually approving their posts.
