Well…how do we know whether there were a large supply of neon colored people on the verge of turning into horrible monsters until a few years ago?

I mean…the gems have been playing clean up for thousands of years. And this seems like a world wide thing (mostly concentrated in beach city, due to the temple, but who knows whether or not centipeetle rampaged through Tokyo or not before coming there). And I assume they weren't always corrupted.

If you have a lot of confused, mutated, and brightly colored people…you might take note of that. In medical journals and such. This might just be considered a 'thing' in this world.

But yes, I agree, this would make a lot more sense if she was a vet. Taht way, we could write of her accepting somthing with weird anatomy, since..hey, it is twitching, it is probably an animal.

Take in account, these aren't corrupted gems, which have well defined bodies, usually in the shape of an animal, but Clusters, which are unholy abominations that are new even for the crystal gems.
