When the British government's Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) asked people on the Internet to name their state-of-the-art polar research vessel in March, their answer was loud and clear: Boaty Mcboatface. Yet all the hubbub may have been for nothing, as UK Science Minister is apparently unimpressed by the people's choice.
